06/28/08 - PokerStars signs William Thorson
PokerStars has announced a new addition to Team PokerStars Pro after signing William Thorson, Swedish pro poker player. His first experience of online poker was with PokerStars back in 2002 when he joined the site to play the free money tables, and eventually progressed on to the real money games. Thorson commented: “To be a member of Team PokerStars Pro is an honor for me. It’s a great team with many of the world’s greatest players and I’m honored to be included in such company.”
06/11/08 - Thorson Final Tables EPT San Remo
Swedish player William Thorson has finished sixth in the biggest poker tournament ever held in Italy, the PokerStars European Poker Tour event held in San Remo, pocketing $220,742 for his efforts. The tournament attracted a total of 701 players, who contributed to a prize pool of over $5 million. The tournament was won by US player Jason Mercier, who beat Anthony Lellouche of France in heads-up play.
